Exploring Zermatt village is a must on at least one day during your stay. With so many boutiques, museums and events you really cant afford to ignore checking out the information offered by Zermatt Tourism!
Zermatt is a car free zone. To drive you must book parking in nearby Täsch and take the shuttle train or licensed taxi to Zermatt.
From Geneva take the A9, or from Zurich either the A1 or Route 19 to Visp. From Visp take the valley road toward Zermatt to Täsch.
Trains from both Geneva and Zurich are comfortable and straightforward with one (sometime two) changes - the last being at Visp which takes you direct to Zermatt where panorama Ski Lodge will greet you (with prior arrangement).
Tickets can be booked direct with SBB
The closest Airports are Geneva (GVA) and Zurich (ZRH).
Private jet charters may land in Sion (with prior arrangement).
Helicopter transfers can be arranged via Air Zermatt.
